Tuesday 31 March 2015

I'm not sure Edinburgh got the message but it's almost April and it's been snowing all day.

Thought I'd treat you all with a scenic shot of the something special that is Pollock Halls (with some snow thrown in too).

Monday 30 March 2015

Another fab night out with these crazy kids. I'm actually kind of sad to be going home so soon, I'll miss this!

Sunday 29 March 2015

Sunday 29 March 2015

Lazy Sunday afternoons. Today was great, we watched tele, listened to music, did arts and crafts and chatted all afternoon.

Saturday 28 March 2015

Last night we went to this Lord of the Ring boxing night, and it was so much fun! Everyone dressed up for it and looked very dapper. It made for something different on a Saturday night.

Saturday 28 March 2015

Friday 27 March 2015

I had the loveliest lunch in the sunshine in G Square with Al and Ben, highlight of my day!
And last night we went to this Grime night at Bongo's which was hilarious and so much fun. I think Mil has found her spirit music genre.
(The beautiful David Hume tower making an appearance, in all it's dated glory.)

Thursday 26 March 2015

Slow start to the day. I had a lovely chat with Mike in the microlab, safe to say no work was done.
Here's Jessie enjoying her breakfast art.

Wednesday 25 March 2015

Sorry it's been so long kids.
Wednesday was a fab fab day. We did some flat hunting, and fingers crossed we're all sorted now. Then in the evening we all went to this Nice and Spicy event and I had the best time! I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.
And Happy Birthday Mummy!

Tuesday 24 March 2015

Tuesday 24 March 2015

Just as I thought Spring had sprung, it goes and decides to snow on my walk back from uni. Impeccable timing.
Mil and I have spent the evening doing nothing, and it was fab. Sometimes those are the best kind of evenings, spent doing nothing, but it feels like lots.

Monday 23 March 2015

Lunch with the gang yesterday was fab! Ameel, Max, Al, Ed and I went to the Outsider; lovely time, lovely food. Then Max and I went on another walking tour of this beautiful city, tourist style.
We had our last 2nds Lacrosse social, super sad times but it was so much fun. We had a pyjama party at Helena's, with plenty of chocolate and ice cream.
And for Max's last night in the Burgh we went out, and had a fab time at Whynot. And somehow Max, Ed and I ended up at Pizza Paradise at 3 in the morning for a sit down meal... as you do.

And as if one Max wasn't bad enough...

Sunday 22 March 2015

Sunday 22 March 2015

Another beautiful service this morning, I took Phoebe with me this time.
This afternoon I baby sat Maximus, and we had a lovely time. We went and sat in the meadow in the glorious sunshine with Al, and then took a trip to the National Museum of Scotland. Here's a picture of him on their rooftop terrace looking... himself.

Saturday 21 March 2015

Saturday 21 March 2015

Thanks to the glorious weather, today has been lovely. Laura and I spent a fun-filled few hours enjoying the sunshine in the meadows, before heading down to the pub to watch England vs France.
Movie night with Max, Mil and Ed, which ended up heavily featuring Sacha Baron Cohen. I'm still not sure whether he's funny or just incredibly awful...

Friday 20 March 2015

Early start for the eclipse yesterday. We went up to Arthur's seat to watch it, or attempt to anyway. Al eventually got here pinhole card thing working and we projected it onto my jumper. You can actually see it in one of the rays on light in this picture, not sure how that works but it's pretty amazing.
After my lecture, Laura, Bea, Kat and I went on this tour of the art work owned by the university in the library. It was amazing, everything was beautiful. They even had a John Piper, my favourite. AND upstairs we saw their Picasso, and also works by Barbara Hepworth, Max Ernst and Samuel Peploe.
AAAAAND Max arrived last night! So lovely to see him, and we all had a great night out.

Friday 20 March 2015

Thursday 19 March 2015

This afternoon I had a look around the Royal Scottish Academy before my tutorial in the National Gallery next door. They had some um, interesting exhibitions in there, this being one of them.
Laura and I went to watch the EUSOG production of the Gondoliers this evening, because she's writing an article on it for the student newspaper. My friend Lydia was in it and she was fab, they were all fab. I wish I could sing like that.
A Great day topped off with Opal with ma pals.

Wednesday 18 March 2015

We had our last match today, sad face. It was against the 1sts and they're pretty good soooo we didn't win, but I think that means that they win the league so not all bad news. And Amelia played in goal! She took one for the team and was fab, I felt like a proud mum.
And this evening we played cards against humanity which is hilarious; came out with some crackers.

Tuesday 17 March 2015

Tuesday 17 March 2015

After an entertaining evening in the microlab with Al I finally finished my essayyyyyyy! Possibly the worst I've ever written, but it's done so who cares.
At lunch today, Laura and I went to the student newspaper evening which was fab and hopefully I'll start getting more involved in writing for them. But for now, fingers crossed I'll be doing some illustration for them which is exciting.

Monday 16 March 2015

Monday 16 March 2015

I can't wait for Wednesday when my essay will be done and I will be freeeeeeeeeeee... until the next one. Had a successful evening of procrastination though (essay is going so abysmally). We went to this Lacrosse meeting where we voted in the committee members for next year, but which basically consisted of some quality banter from the 2nds chat. And then this evening Milly have I have just milled around (pun intended).
Squad Goals.

Sunday 15 March 2015

Sunday 15 March 2015

Church this morning was so lovely. Georgie and I went to St Giles' on the Royal Mile and it is so stunning inside, and that combined with the choir made it truly magical. Plus there was a real girl power vibe to the sermon which was so good to hear. All in all a great start to the day, although what I've done since has been far less inspiring...

Saturday 14 March 2015

Nice early wake up for the tournament yesterday. And we did so well; won two and lost two so unfortunately didn't make it to the semi's but we all played beautifully and gave everyone a run for their money. Mil and I managed to lose like 3 hours of yesterday afternoon just sitting outside the jmcc... I'd say that's quite an achievement too.
And then Laura, Sophie, Hannah, Lizzie and I spent the evening at the fashion show, which was brilliant. We had such a lovely time and everyone looked gorgeous. But most of all the whole thing made me so determined to make sure that I get involved in ECFS next year somehow, it would be such an amazing thing to be a part of it.
Topped the evening off with a stellar night at prow.

Friday 13 March 2015

Friday 13 March 2015

Had lunch with this mole today. It was lovely, we went to Spoon and had chip butties; definitely the best way to spend your Friday afternoon.

Thursday 12 March 2015

I've always loved Thursday's.
Despite the miserable weather yesterday was far from dull. Milly, Al, Laura, Georgie, Sophie, Catch and I all went out for a curry which was sooooo lovely, and definitely something we should do more of. AND as if that wasn't enough fun for one day last night was Cirque, and needless to say that was a ball. Izzy made our eyes super jazzy with sparkles and we all looked fab.
This beautiful snapshot was taken whilst perusing in Armstrong's yesterday afternoon (ft. creepy mannequin).

Wednesday 11 March 2015

Wednesday 11 March 2015

Today has been fab and super productive!
I've got things sorted, I've applied for some jobs AND I've been shopping yayayay. Liv, Sally and I spent a fab afternoon roaming the shops of Princes Street. And, you know, there was a lot of walking involved and battling the squillion mile an hour winds was pretty tough so I think we earned all the pretty things we bought...

Tuesday 10 March 2015

Tuesday 10 March 2015

Werkin.
The library is where it's been at today. But I had a lovely lunch with Georgie and Sally, a welcome break.

Monday 9 March 2015

Monday 9 March 2015

Back in the Burgh after the most horrific flight. Sooooo much turbulence.
Fab to be back though, although no one wanted to go out tonight. So here I am.
But I got to talk to Phil so all is well.

Sunday 8 March 2015

Sunday 8 March 2015

Girl's day with Mummy and Thea. We had a lovely pub lunch at the Stag before Thea went back to school.
And I FINALLY finished this essay. Took long enough.
Daddy went to Harwick House today to play real tennis at their annual Wind in the Willows dress up day, and this year Thea and I dressed him as washer woman Toad; he looked amazing, bonnet and all.

Saturday 7 March 2015

Saturday 7 March 2015

Up at half six this morning for my interview at Wimbledon, fingers crossed it went well. And I met a lovely girl called Alex there, she was so lovely, I hope she gets the job too.
AND I saw my main gal Victoria! It was so so SO lovely to see her, and have some lunch and catch up. I've missed her so much! Plus we got to sit outside in the GLORIOUS sunshine. Literally, people of Edinburgh, it's like summer down south. None of this snow malarkey.
Love you Vicky B x

Friday 6 March 2015

I won't lie it was slightly sad leaving Edinburgh last night. I'll miss you over the next few days. But it is SO good to be home. I've missed my bed!.. oh and my family too I guess.

Thursday 5 March 2015

Thursday 5 March 2015

Today's photo of the day, chosen by bad man Felix.
I've spent the whole day in the library, but just my luck I left all my notes for my essay in my room. Well done Grace. On the bright side though I'm getting there (slowly).

Wednesday 4 March 2015

So last night was the long awaited Lacrosse Ball. And it. was. fab!
We went to Rosie and Chrissie's beforehand, and then made our way over to the Ghillie Dhu which was stunning, such a great venue. Our table was fab, so much fun and so much wine. And Ali and Jessie did pretty well at representing us by both getting prizes, well done galz.
As promised, here is Mr Bradnam making a debut appearance on my blog.

Tuesday 3 March 2015

Tuesday 3 March 2015

Snow is all very lovely and beautiful and pretty to look at, but, as I have discovered, it is lethal to attempt to walk on. I've spent the majority of today huddled in the depths of the library, where the bitterly cold wind is just a distant memory. My appreciation for central heating has hit an all time high over the past few days, unlike the temperature outside.

Monday 2 March 2015

I spent most of today library hopping, trying (and failing) to get this essay done. Fingers crossed I'll get it done by Friday... that's the aim anyway.
If you hadn't guessed it also snowed today. I wish the weather would make it's mind up; one minute it's snowing, the next it's beautiful sunshine, then it's hailing, and the wind is so strong it seems wishful thinking just to think you can stand up in it, let alone walk through it. Anyway, foolishly I was persuaded into going to Lacrosse tonight and surprise surprise we played mid blizzard. Although the picture makes it look like fun, it was up there in one of the most painful experiences of my life. Snow in your eyes is not a pleasant experience.

Sunday 1 March 2015

Sunday 1 March 2015

Make shift tea brewing in the JMCC.
The weather has been grim, but it's okay because the day has been brightened by two lovely phone calls with two lovely gals, Victoria and Molly. Love oo.
