Sunday 31 May 2015

Today we drove all the way home again, only stopping over in Knutsford for lunch which is a pretty town, lots of little boutique-y shops and cafes.
We dropped Thea off at the train station, she's back to school for exams and things. Lucky her.
Miss ya

Saturday 30 May 2015

Saturday 30 May 2015

This morning we went down to the Royal Yacht Britannia down in Leith. It actually turned out to be far more interesting that I originally anticipated. It's the boat that the Queen and her family used to sail around the globe on. It's done something like 1,087,600+ miles. I wouldn't mind having my own luxury yacht to sail all over the world in.
Then this afternoon I walked up Arthur's Seat with Daddy and Thea. Here's the obligatory photo at the top.
We had our last supper together with the Cunningham's at Amarone, which was delicious. I've eaten enough this weekend to sink a ship. It's been so lovely spending the weekend with them, I really hope we see them again soon!

Friday 29 May 2015

Friday 29 May 2015

Another rainy day in Edinburgh. But it didn't spoil the fun.
One of the exciting things we did today was visit Mary King's Close, which was really interesting, if a little creepy.
This evening we went for supper at Chez Jules which is one of my faves and it was delicious, but I definitely ate too much. Afterwards we went for a drink at the pub Andy used to go to when he was at uni there called Cafe Royal.
We went to the Museum on the Mound briefly this afternoon too which made for a prime photo opportunity of my wonderful, if slightly deranged family, trying out their best bank note faces.

Thursday 28 May 2015

Thursday 28 May 2015

We had a super early start today, we got to Edinburgh by lunch so you can imagine. Weird, it feels like I was only here the other day...
We've come up to see family friends who've come over from America. We don't get to see them too often so when we do it's always lovely.
This evening we got an Indian take away and we stayed in catching up, which I think was exactly what everyone needed, what with jet lag and unreasonably early starts.

Wednesday 27 May 2015

Wednesday 27 May 2015

Another arts and crafts day. I've been experimenting with all sorts of things, spary paint, tissue paper. I'm dreaming of having a rustic summer party, with fairy lights, candles and home made decorations. I was also thinking of potentially making a few things and selling them. I've got quite good at bunting and could even do things to order if that's what people wanted, Plus I enjoy making them all too so it would be a win win really.

Tuesday 26 May 2015

I am the lawn mowing queen. Behold my beautifully mown lawns.

Monday 25 May 2015

Rachael stayed the night so I got to spend the whole day with her today. I've seen quite a lot of her this week and it's been so lovely to catch up on everything.
This evening I've been attempting to plan my summer... and googling pictures of Croatia, it's going to be amazing!

Sunday 24 May 2015

Happy bank holiday everyone!
We had a bank holiday supper with the family. Rachael came down from London and Granny came too. It was so lovely to see everyone!
P.S. If there was a winner in french cricket, I definitely would have one...

Saturday 23 May 2015

Been getting my arts and crafts on recently. I've become obsessed with Pinterest, I could spend days and days just scrolling and pinning.
Today I made a little tea light holder, it took a lot longer than anticipated though, but I like it a lot.

Saturday 23 May 2015

Friday 22 May 2015

Thea's home!
This afternoon Daddy and I went into Petworth, he got his hair cut (finally) and I had a look round the shops. Petworth is such a lovely town, really pretty and serene; very country-esque. We went in the Haflinger as well which is always um, different.
First tennis match of the season. Sadly I lost, but I put that down to my shoe choice and not enough lunch...

Thursday 21 May 2015

Home alone today. It was actually kind of nice, it meant I could do nothing and not have everyone breathing down my neck about it. And for some reason I was soooooo tired after yesterday. So I had a lovely day recharging the batteries.

Wednesday 20 May 2015

I don't like interviews. And this one was even worse, it was a 'group assessment'. Safe to say I probably won't get it, but it's the experience that counts (something everyone keeps telling me).
But I had a lovely evening catching up with Rachael! It was so lovely to see her. We walked to South Ken and had supper at Carluccio's. And they do the most amazing carbonara's, yum.

Tuesday 19 May 2015

Tuesday 19 May 2015

I made a cake today. We almost had a crisis half way through when I realised there was no icing sugar left!!!!! But I managed to salvage the situation and save the day by improvising and making 'frosting' which disconcertingly starts off a lot like macaroni cheese... But it was delicious and there were happy tea-timers all round.

Monday 18 May 2015

Monday 18 May 2015

Rain, rain, go away...
It actually did go away in the end, and daddy and I spent the whole arvo in the garden tractorin' and mowin'; dad stuff.

Sunday 17 May 2015

Another beautiful day! Today was spent entirely in the garden helping daddy with the hedges; exhilarating stuff. But it was great just to be outside and doing something helpful.
I cooked supper too! Mummy wasn't overly impressed though, don't think I'm quite up to her lofty standards... yet.

Saturday 16 May 2015

Saturday 16 May 2015

It's so good to be home!
Safe to say I've been making full use of homeness, i.e. my lovely bed and mummy's cooking.
I spent the whole day in mama's garden reading in the sunshine, not a bad way the spend the day.

Friday 15 May 2015

See yah later Edinburgh! It's been fun, we should do it again sometime, maybe September?
So I finally got all my things packed up and sorted. Without getting too sentimental I'm going to miss Pollock. I'm definitely going to miss my view, I won't have scenes like this next year.

Thursday 14 May 2015

I have a real talent for procrastination.
Today was supposed to be all about packing for tomorrow, but instead I managed to watch Sex in the City with Mil while she packed (didn't), had a lovely lunch with Mil, Izzy, Ed and Hugo where we decided that our time would be better spent watching the new Avengers film, so we did, - Ed but + Rory. Afterwards the packing panic started to set in slightly when Mil and I were informed that Homebase were sold out of boxes. So to combat the stress we went to the pub (obviously). Here they are looking fabulous. I'm going to miss these gals, although I'll probably end up seeing them soon enough. Yay!

Wednesday 13 May 2015

Yesterday was amazin. The excitement started at lunch time, when Mil, Eliza and I went to the Elephant House, which is supposed the be the 'birthplace of Harry Potter'. Lunch was nice but oddly enough, the best part of the trip was our visit to the loos which are covered in graffiti; some quotes and soooo many thank you's for J.K.
Afterwards, we + Izzy climbed the Scott Monument. The views were stunning, you can see for miles from the top. It's a looong way up as well; 287 steps exactly (I didn't count it says on the certificate, yes we got certificates), and the staircase gets scarily narrow towards the top it was a bit of a squeeze.
We ended the day with a group trip to Hive. It was most of our first times and it was definitely an experience... but we also definitely had a fab time, I did anyway.

Tuesday 12 May 2015

I think it's safe to say everyone's feeling a little worse for wear today...
This evening we watched Twilight, which even though still one of my favourites, I can now see how completely awful it is. Everything but the soundtrack (and Robert Pattinson's face).

Tuesday 12 May 2015

Monday 11 May 2015

Yesterday was fab!
First of all, Mil, Al, Izzy and I had a lovely lunch at the Mosque Kitchen, which was scrumptious. We then found Eliza and we all went and got our ears pierced, we even got a team photo.
And last night about 35 of us went out for dinner to celebrate the end of exams! It was a hilarious meal, and we ended up in Why Not (apart from Mil...) for what will probably be the last time in a while (sad times, but role on summer yay).

Sunday 10 May 2015

Sunday 10 May 2015

Day 5, and I'm beginning to forget what health feels like. BUT I'm finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel! My day was brightened when these lovely ladies came to have tea with me. It was magical, even before Amelia sprinkled my bed with sequins.
And happy birthday Marcus! I hope you also had a magical day.

Saturday 9 May 2015

I actually did something productive today; shocker.
I finally got around to doing this drawing from St Giles Cathedral that I've been meaning to do for aaaages. Anyway, here it is. Not one of my best but at least I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. I've missed my drawing.

Friday 8 May 2015

These days are all just blurring into one now. Being ill sucks. I've resorted to comfort tv to get me through these tough times.

Thursday 7 May 2015

Thursday 7 May 2015

I'm sick.
Today's delights consisted of a wonderful concoction of green tea and paracetamol.

Wednesday 6 May 2015

Wednesday 6 May 2015

Today has been just what the doctor ordered; a well earned all-day lie in, and it's been brilliant. Although, not all fun and games as I've been applying for jobs too.
Another pub trip this evening with the gang, I'll miss this over the summer.

Tuesday 5 May 2015

Super sad to leave Newcastle, I had such a great time. I was so lovely to see everyone, and a big thank you to Phil for putting up with me (I hope I didn't hog the bed too much). And also thank you to all of Phil's wonderful friends for just being so wonderful.
On my return to the burgh I had a wander around Grassmarket (in the rain), having a look in all the little shops down there. This one was by far my favourite. It's this labyrinth of Persian carpets and floor to ceiling walls of books. It was a dream.

Monday 4 May 2015

So the morning was a bit of a write off, but Pip, Georgie and I had a lovely afternoon exploring Newcastle, and the park by Leazes called Town moor I think. It was lovely, we walked up the big hill and you could see for miles.
In the evening we + Aggie went for supper at Wagamama's which was scrumptious. The chocolate cake definitely made it though.

Sunday 3 May 2015

Sorry it's been so long kiddo's, I've had a bust few days.
On Sunday afternoon Mil and I went shopping, and it was a very successful trip and we bought many lovely things. I then hopped on a train to Newcastle. And it was so lovely to see everyone! We went out, and I saw so many Sherborne people who I haven't seen in forever, like Annie and Lara and Mary and Toomey... and it was so great to see them all and catch up.

Saturday 2 May 2015

Saturday 2 May 2015

So Mil and I had a fun filled day. We made a spontaneous decision on the bus to go to the Edinburgh Dungeons. On reflection it was a great idea, at the time not so much. Safe to say I scare easy, I was more than a little jumpy. But hey, at least I added to Amelia's entertainment.
We bought key rings = money well spent.

Friday 1 May 2015

It's May already!? Where is this year disappearing to?
I had a fab start to the month. Catch, Sophie, Liv and I had a glorious days shopping in the spring sunhine, enjoying some post first year freedom.
